Pendant from a string of beads

Item has an elongated rounded shape, flat in profile, with a single hole placed in the upper part of the item. The pendant is made of soft rock - pyrophyllite (agalmatolite).

Traces of artificial red paint have been remained on the surface of the pendant. The artificial composition is indicated by low iron values and the presence of organic additives.

Manufacturing technique

The process of making the pendant included manufacturing of the blank. Then the central hole was made. Then the pendant was grinded on abrasive slabs for giving it a required size.
