Round pendant (from a concentration)

An item is oval in shape, rounded in profile with a single hole at the edge. Probably, the pendant was sewn onto clothes as evidenced by the flattening of the item on one side.

Manufacturing technique

The process of manufacturing the pendant consisted of several stages. A blank of the required shape was formed by chipping a flake (or half of a small pebble). At the last stage, the blank was ground and drilled.

Various sizes of pyrophyllite pebbles were used as raw materials for the manufacture of pendants.

Use-wear traces

Traces of grinding, polishing and drilling were recorded.
