Fragment of a pendant

The item is rectangular in shape and has broken edges. The item also has one hole in the middle and one at the end (?). A pendant is made of soft rock - pyrophyllite (agalmatolite).

On the surface of the triangular pendant of pyrophyllite, traces of red paint of artificial origin are remained. The artificial composition of the pigment is indicated by low iron values (10%) and the presence of additives of various origins.

Manufacturing technique

The pendant manufacturing process consisted of several stages. At the first stage, the selection of raw materials took place. Then, at the second stage, a blank of the required shape was created. After that, in the third stage, the blank was ground and drilled.

Various sizes of pyrophyllite pebbles were used as raw materials for the manufacture of pendants.
