Unknown antler item

An unknown item of an axe-like shape. The shape is cut of a large antler plate with a stone knife. An elongated handle has an extended end which is bent up. Two round holes are located at the corners of the lower longitudinal edge. Between the holes, two parallel thin lines are cut. On the back side of the item, they have an elongation in the form of two short notches. 

The item has a cut ornament on both sides. The ornament consists of three twin notches and one non-twin notch. 


Manufacturing technique

A small round holes in the rectangular part are made on beam drilling method. The cut ornament is obviously made with a metal knife. On the polished side at the end of the handle, there is a slanting narrow dent also made with a metal knife.


Use-wear traces

The surface of the item is polished and covered with a conservation grout.
