Fragment of a whistle

An item of an elongated shape made of tubular bird bone. On its surface, there are thin parallel notches.

Manufacturing technique

It is difficult to determine the way of fragmenting the bone. Most likeky, the bone fracture was due to perforation the technological notches along the edges. Technological and ornamental notches are made with the same tool with a narrow thin blade (a stone knife).

Use-wear traces

Traces of light polishing are found on the entire surface. Most of polishing was found on the one end of the item.
