Anthropomorphic figurine 2

The anthropomorphic figure is made on a flat blank (ivory blade). The head is quite large and has an oval shape. The arms are thin, straight and elongated along the body. The legs are less than one third of the body length. They are divided by a narrow space. There are two mounting holes in the armpit area (?). The face isquite flat, the eyes are small, the nose is elongated, the mouth is made as a small dash. The shoulders are slightly sloped.

Manufacturing technique

The inner side of the item has traces of longitudinal surface treatment with a tool like a wide chisel or a cutting tool with a wide edge in the lower part. The edges are treated with a push-plane along the contour. The item is grinded on fine-grained abrasive from the front side. When making the face, a cutting tool was used. It was used when making the mouth and the eyes. They were made with two-way movement, towards each other, so, the holes look like lens. The flattening of the eyelids is made with a burin with a wide edge. the eye-sockers and the upper parts of the eyelids are made with a cutting tool. The nose base is made with a burin. The burin is as wide as nose wings. The inner part is made with a cutting tool. The crotch between legs is done in the same way. Then the manual drilling was made probably with a reamer from both sides. The left armpit was widened probably with a cutting tool. The arms and the legs are cut with a knife.
