Big bell

A casting bronze bell of trapezoidal shape with arcuate base. At the top under the eyelet there is a hole with a diameter of 0.4 cm for threading the lace and fastening the tongue. The relief ornament is in four fields, two on one side. In each field, two horizontal rollers divide it into three belts with three convex "pearls". Rectangular bronze cast plate tongue with rounded tip and rectangular neckline. The surface inside the bell is untreated. There are some roughnesses with natural negatives of the surface of the molding material.

Manufacturing technique

The quality of casting is well. The outer side is properly grinded with small abrasive. A fragment of the casting seam is remained only inside the loop that allows us to suggest about using double-sided forms when manufacturing. The exhibit has a light brown patina after restoration.
